Small, unpretentious taproom. The walls are covered with bird related artwork. The space has a rugged, industrial vibe. It’s a small operation tucked into a strip mall. There were 12 beers on tap when we visited.
BEER:
Chickadee Berliner Weisse (3.50) – Straw yellow appearance. Tart and sour. Citrus character overtaken by passion fruit. Puckering reaction somewhat subdued.
Junco New England IPA (3.75) – Yellow, hazy appearance. Medium-bodied IPA. First sip full of hop bitterness, but in no way overwhelming. Looking for floral aspects in bouquet, but these were lacking. Fruity character missing.
Kingfisher Kölsch (3.50) – Golden German ale. Light- to medium-bodied mouthfeel. Refreshing and easy to drink. Hop bitterness not a big player, as appropriate.
Sparrow English Mild (3.00) – Deep amber color. Body a bit thin for style. Some roasted character evident, needs more. Hop bitterness nicely intertwined into recipe.
