BJ’s is part of a chain of 204 restaurants in 27 states. The first BJ’s restaurant was opened in 1978 in Orange County, California and centered on bringing the unique flavor of deep-dish pizza to California. In 1996 they started brewing beer and have won over 200 awards, including several gold medals from the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Most recently in 2015, they received the GABF Gold Medal for BJ’s LightSwitch® Lager in the Session Beer Category.
We visited the one near Addison, convenient to the Dallas North Tollway and many hotels. Open daily from 11am to midnight (1am on Fri-Sat). 15 beers on tap, as well as 4 blends.
BEER
BJ’s Lightswitch Lager (3.50) – Light to medium-bodied lager; low level of hop bitterness; very easy-to-drink beer
BJ’s PM Porter (4.50) – Big, bold Porter, significant sweet aspects in flavor profile; roasted and caramel malts in abundance, hints of chocolate

Large menu with a variety of choices, something for everyone. The menu features BJ’s ® award-winning, signature deep-dish pizza, a wide selection of appetizers, entrees, pastas, sandwiches, specialty salads and desserts. including their unique Pizookie ® dessert. They also offer an EnLIGHTened menu which features a selection of low-calorie, superfoods, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
