The Ægir Brewpub design is inspired by Norse mythology, with the exterior reminiscent of a stave church. Inside are driftwood walls, dragon heads and a fireplace that radiates warmth and coziness, with a chimney extending up through the middle of both floors.
The beer is world-class, and has won gold, silver and bronze medals in international competitions.
BEER
Bryggve Blonde Ale (3.50) – Golden ale with medium body and low bitterness
Sumbel Porter (4.00) – Full flavored and malty, with plenty of chocolate and coffee notes; a robust example of the style; great choice for your last beer when drinking a series of Ægir beers
Siv Witbier (4.50) – Very light-bodied and hazy; very true to style; hints of orange and coriander make it a highly drinkable beer
FOOD
During the summer season, they offer a large lunch buffet daily, with Norwegian and international dishes, as well as an extensive à la carte menu in the evening. This includes soups, small dishes, traditional dishes such as rallarbiff – beer-marinated sirloin steak – and homemade lamb burger, as well as fish fresh from the fjord. One popular option is the Vikingplanke, a unique five course beer and food pairing menu.
