A moderate-sized taproom and a spacious and inviting patio. In the early, days Pivot served beer from outside breweries before starting their own brewing operation. They featured ten beers on tap when we visited. Pivot expanded their range by adding ciders, ten of which were available. Flights can be arranged as all beer, all cider, or a mix.
BEER:
Clean Up! Kõlsch (3.75) – Crisp German ale, with medium body. Sweet character lingers, probably a bit excessively. Hop bitterness somewhat concealed, but balances things out.
Intellect & Savior Faire Saison (2.50) – Fruity character comes to the forefront, probably excessively. The citrus aspects were almost pucker-inducing. Grassy, earthy aspects of a Saison missing or overshadowed by fruit character.
Jax Belgian Blonde (4.50) – Malt sweetness and a mix of bold, fruity flavors. Body-wise, beer is a bit thin. Complexity of flavors and aromas make for a very enjoyable experience.
Sunshine Daydream Altbier (4.75) – Collaboration with Blue Stallion Brewing Co. Caramel and roasted malts make this beer a winner. Medium/full bodied German ale worthy of the name. Proper balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness.
The Winchester English Ale (4.25) – Medium-bodied, amber ale. Caramel notes prominent. Medium level of hop bitterness, properly balanced. Smooth and highly drinkable.
Volta Hefeweizen (3.00) – Beer is too sweet for style. There is something of a clash between the sweetness and the clove character. Minimal hop bitterness, as expected. A nice wheat ale, but falls short of the classic Hefeweizen.
