Located in the lower level of the Itasca Country Club, adjacent to the Fox and Turtle restaurant, this nano-brewery taproom just opened a few months before our visit.
It’s a small, dimly lit space in the hallway outside the restaurant. The bar has a view of the brewing operation. They normally have 11 beers on tap, but had just run out of half of them prior to our visit. They offer crowlers (32-oz cans), a handy option for golfers to carry with them on the course.
BEER
English Dark Mild (4.50) – Full bodied; roasted malt dominates
Guatemalan/Brazilian Coffee (2.50) – English Dark Mild with coffee added; not a discernable difference between the two coffee flavors; coffee bitterness overpowers the malty roasted flavors of the original
Vanilla (3.00) – English Dark Mild with vanilla; a nice additive to the original beer
Kuytbier (3.75) – Pale oat lager; similar flavor profile to Kellerbier; medium body, mild hop character
FOOD
No food served in the bar, but it is adjacent to the Country Club’s restaurant.
