BEER:
All Together Now Altbier (3.75) – Dark amber appearance. Strong malt character, caramel notes present. Bitterness level probably at the higher end for this style. 32 IBU seems a bit high. Needs more boldness, more malt character to be great.
Flitterwochen Kölsch (3.25) – Straw yellow appearance. Medium-bodied ale. Too bitter to be an authentic Kölsch. Better classified as a Golden Ale.
Origami Binoculars Schwarzbier (4.25) – Black, nearly opaque appearance. Big, bold, malty mouthfeel. Roasted malt character dominates. Low level of hop bitterness, as appropriate. Very good example of style.
That Escalated Swiftly Belgian Strong Golden Ale (3.75) – Straw yellow appearance. Medium-bodied ale. 8.5% ABV well hidden. Aged in red zinfandel barrels, which results in an interesting mashup of flavors. Traditional Belgian ale characteristics, like clove, are hidden by wine flavors. Wine-like dry aftertaste.
