Located in the lower level of the Itasca Country Club, adjacent to the Fox and Turtle restaurant, this nano-brewery just opened in January. The hours are limited: Fri-Sat 6pm-9pm; Sun Noon-4pm, but we were told that they plan to expand the hours to include Wed-Thu in the next week or so.
It’s a small, dimly lit space in the hallway outside the restaurant. The bar has a view of the brewing operation. They normally have 11 beers on tap, but had just run out of half of them prior to our visit. They offer crowlers (32 oz cans), a handy option for golfers to carry with them on the course.
BEER:
English Dark Mild - Full bodied; roasted malt dominates -4.50
Guatemalan (and Brazilian) - The English Dark Mild with coffee added; not a discernable difference between the two coffee flavors; coffee bitterness overpowers the malty roasted flavors of the original -2.50
Vanilla - English Dark Mild with vanilla; a nice additive to the original beer -3.00
Kuytbier - Pale oat lager; similar flavor profile to Kellerbier; medium body, mild hop character -3.75
FOOD:
No food served in the bar, but it is adjacent to the Country Club’s restaurant.
