Michigan City’s oldest microbrewery. Lots of wood and brick décor. The bar top looks like it was carved out of a tree trunk. Nice outdoor deck.
Open daily, from 11am Sat and Sun, Noon Mon-Fri. They had six house beers and 18 guest taps.
BEER:
Golden Grain Cream Ale - 3.25
- Super light, low bitterness level; very typical cream ale character
Carriage House DIPA - 2.75
- Malty, bready mouthfeel; hop level quite high, lingers in aftertaste
Red Devil IPA - 2.00
- Evidence of roasted malt; balance shifts too far towards bitterness and hop character
Elston Grove Oatmeal Stout - 4.00
- Bold and malty stout; distinctive dry aftertaste
York Street English Brown Ale - 4.50
- Massive roasted malt character; excellent balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness
FOOD:
Lunch served daily. Limited, simple menu with a few appetizers, sandwiches and flatbreads.
