This brewery just opened a week prior to our visit. You can still smell the fresh paint. It’s located on a busy stretch of Lake Street in Bloomingdale.
The tap room is inside of a house and has a very cozy feel. As you walk up the stairs, there is a wooden porch with rocking chairs. Inside there are several areas to hang out; a small parlor with a brick fireplace, cushy chairs and an oriental rug; the main room with a long bar, as well as tables and chairs along the windows. The unique bar top is made from a wavy-edged piece of wood, with the top half filled with colorful stones visible through a clear acrylic finish.
There is another bar upstairs, with a view of the brewing process. Very nice outdoor deck with umbrellas for shade. Dog friendly.
Six beers on tap. Our only complaint is the high price of growler fills: $22.
BEER:
Pale Moonlight Pale Ale -3.75
Excellent balance between maltiness and hop bitterness; very solid example of a pale ale
Fog of Dawn Hazy NEIPA -4.00
Super hazy beer; citrus and grapefruit notes dominate; a hint of hop bitterness balances everything beautifully
Furliner Berliner Weiss -4.00
Tartness is big in this beer, but a certain sweetness provides nice balance; easy to drink a lot of this beer
Nuzzle Porter -4.25
At 6.8% ABV, the alcohol kick is a bit much; roasted character quite nice
FOOD:
They featured mac and cheese and ice cream parfaits on the day that we visited. The food specials vary each day, such as “Pierogi Monday.” You can also order pizza from the restaurant across the street.
