The style is characterized by its straw-yellow color, a very light body, and almost no hop bitterness. The tasty witbier will have citrus or coriander notes, both in the bouquet and in the aftertaste.
Hoegaarden is by far the best example of this style. There are, however, many good domestic examples, like Revolution’s Bottom Up Wit, Tapistry’s Mr Orange, and Sam Adams Cold Snap.
