Deep Ellum Brewing Co.

Dallas, TX

Founded:  2011

Last visited:  March 2019

Last June the brewery was sold to Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective. Deep Ellum will become one of six independent craft breweries (including Oskar Blues) operating under the partnership that was founded in 2015.

The brewery has quickly grown to become the 3rd largest independent craft brewery in Texas and the 65th largest brewery overall. The buy-out by Canarchy means access to chain level buying and to distribution contacts outside the state. Per the brewery’s website, “It’s really business as usual as far as the customer,” says Deep Ellum founder, John Reardon.

A second location, a research-and-development brewery and restaurant, just opened in Fort Worth: Deep Ellum Funkytown Fermatorium.  And they are expanding distribution to Oklahoma, the first state outside of Texas.

The Dallas brewery is located in a large warehouse space with a patio.  15 beers on tap.
