The original brewery is in Petaluma, CA. They opened the Chicago brewery in 2014 to better serve the needs of the Midwest and East Coast. It’s a huge warehouse space that used to be a movie studio. They keep expanding and are now producing over a million barrels of beer per year. In 2017, Heineken International purchased 100% of the brewery. Founder Tony Magee stayed on as CEO.
They also have locations in Seattle, WA and Azusa, CA.
Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for local nonprofit events to turn beer into money for their cause. Taproom hours: Wed-Sun: Noon – 9pm. Free tours offered daily. Check the website for times.
They have 18 beers on tap.
Pils (4.50) – Outstanding example of a Czech style pilsner; hoppy and malty.
Lagunitas Sucks Brown Shugga Double IPA (3.00) – Super hoppy, decent balance.
Undercover Investigation Shutdown Ale (3.50) – Strong ale and they’re not kidding; high ABV not overpowering; balance is quite nice, malt sweetness, nice bouquet.
They have excellent food, but a limited menu, featuring “Snacks and Shareables,” “Salads,” and “Other Tasty Things” like pulled pork, burgers and a grilled veggie wrap.
