Small, functional, garage space in an industrial area of Lyons. The taproom has a small bar in the front and a few tables; no televisions. The founders, Sean Mahoney, and Brewmaster, Ike Orcutt, previously worked at Hopothesis Brewing Co. in the West Loop. Their motto is: “Creativity and Determination” which allowed them to realize their dream of opening a brewery.
Hours are: Wed 4pm-10pm, Thu Noon-10pm, Fri-Sat Noon-11pm, Sun Noon-5pm. They had eight beers on tap. Here are a few that we sampled:
BEER:
Fritzicuffs Pilsner - Hoppy Czech pilsner; medium body, smooth as silk - 4.00
Oktoberfest - Robust malty flavor, tinge of bitterness in the finish; highly drinkable
Stompbox Imperial Stout - Very smooth, hearty; alcohol level hidden behind the bold malt flavor
Mark of the Yeast American Pale Ale - Hoppiness evident in the bouquet, medium body, significant hop finish; fruity notes evident but not overpowering
Shady Aftermath Porter - Lacking robustness; needs more roasted malt
Ankle Biter Small Stout - Easy drinking approachable stout; call it Guinness Lite
FOOD:
No food served, but you are welcome to bring your own. Food trucks often visit on weekends.
